§ 16-1. Riding bicycles on sidewalks prohibited.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, operate or use a bicycle, skateboard, roller skates or rollerblades, or any other similar wheeled personal transportation device (except a wheelchair, wheeled walker, baby carriage or baby stroller) upon any sidewalk in the downtown commercial district, herein defined as that area beginning at the northwest corner of West Baylor Street and North Sherman Street; thence south on North Sherman Street to the southwest corner of West Crockett Street and South Sherman Street;

    Thence east on West Crockett Street to the east right-of-way line of South West Main Street;

    Thence north on South West Main Street to the northeast corner of North West Main Street and West Baylor Street;

    Thence west on West Baylor Street to the northwest corner of West Baylor Street and North Sherman Street (point of beginning) and containing approximately 34.16 acres of land.

    This section does not apply to city-owned vehicles operated by employees of the city.
