§ 2-195. Powers and duties.

The Ennis Arts Commission shall promote the arts within the City of Ennis, Texas, and have the following powers and duties:

(1)

Identify, assess and develop the cultural and artistic assets of the City of Ennis;

(2)

Monitor regional, state and national cultural and artistic activities in order to secure advantageous opportunities for the citizens of Ennis;

(3)

Establish liaison with public and private organization for the purposes of planning and obtaining technical and monetary assistance for cultural and artistic activities;

(4)

Make recommendations to the city commission concerning cultural and artistic policies and programs; and

(5)

Make recommendations to the Ennis Economic Development Corporation regarding any appropriate, authorized uses of the "optional economic development sales tax."
