§ 5-164. Standards for equipment.

  • All electrical equipment installed or used shall be reasonably safe to persons and property in conformity with the provisions of this article, the applicable statutes of the state and the rules and regulations issued by authority thereof.

    (1)

    Conformity of electrical equipment with the applicable standards of Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc., shall be prima evidence that such equipment is reasonably safe to persons and property.

    (2)

    Only standard parts and materials approved by the electrical inspector as set forth in sections 5-97 and 5-98 shall be permitted in electrical repair or maintenance work.
