§ 7-1. Arson reward.

  • (a)

    The city hereby offers a reward of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person found guilty of committing the crime of arson within the city; provided, that in the event any such person arrested is a minor or a person of unsound mind and, therefore, cannot be so convicted, then such reward shall, nevertheless, be paid upon evidence of guilt that would otherwise support such conviction. Such reward is a standing offer, and shall be paid out of the general funds of the city.

    (b)

    Notice of such reward shall be placed on placards of not less than eight (8) inches by twelve (12) inches in permanent glass frames in not less than six (6) public places in public buildings in at least six (6) different places and areas in the city.
