Article III. REGULATION OF SEX OFFENDER RESIDENCY |
§ 9-50. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Day care center means a facility that provides care, training, education, treatment or supervision at a location other than the residence of the director, owner, or operator of the child-care facility for seven (7) or more children for less than twenty-four (24) hours a day.
Permanent residence means a place where a person abides, lodges, or resides for 14 or more consecutive days.
Premises where children commonly gather includes all improved and unimproved areas on the lot where a public park, public playground, private or public school, public or semipublic swimming pool, public or non-profit recreational facility, day care center or video arcade facility is located, as those terms are or may be defined in V.T.C.A., Health and Safety Code § 481.134, as amended. For purposes of this article, landscaped street medians are not public parks.
Registered sex offender means an individual who is required to register as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Code of Criminal Procedure.
Temporary residence means a place where a person abides, lodges, or resides for a period of fourteen (14) or more days in the aggregate during any calendar year, and which is not the person's permanent address, or a place where a person routinely abides, lodges, or resides for a period of four or more consecutive or nonconsecutive days in a month and which is not the person's permanent residence.
