§ 2-197. Appointment; membership; vacancies; chairman.

The mayor shall appoint, subject to confirmation by the city commission, the Ennis Human Relations Advisory Committee which shall consist of six (6) members, each member being a resident of the City of Ennis, Texas. Three (3) members of the advisory committee shall be female and three (3) members of the advisory committee shall be male. Two (2) members of the advisory committee shall be African American, two (2) members shall be Hispanic and two (2) members shall be Caucasian or other racial/ethnic group. Each member shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years. Any vacancy shall be immediately filled for the unexpired term. A chairman shall be elected from among the six (6) appointive members to serve a term of one (1) year.
